Hi Salvatore,
Thanks for reviewing. You are right - there are changes planned in Neutron as well for the Amazon VPC API support. Here is the link referring to the Neutron blueprint.
https://blueprints.launchpad.net/neutron/+spec/juniper-plugin-with-extensions
All calls except related to Instances are implemented as Neutron extensions. In addition all the security group APIs and floating IP APIs work in multi mode - EC2 mode (like before) and VPC mode (through Neutron).

Rudra

Hi Rudra,
In this blueprint what would be the plan for Neutron?
>From the specification it seems the scope is not limited to nova-network, but includes Neutron as well, so you probably have a plan to forward the VPC calls to Neutron.
The question here is whether you've considered implementing the VPC API in Neutron directly, with the exception of those calls, like RunInstances which pertain to the compute node.

Salvatore

In addition there is one more change:
New euca2ools commands have been added to support all the
VPC related CLI.
Thanks,

Hi All,
A blueprint has been registered to add Amazon VPC API support.
Currently Amazon EC2 API support already exists in Openstack.
Please review the blueprint and the attached specification. The
specification covers all the VPC APIs and describes how it maps
to the Openstack constructs.
Blueprint
https://blueprints.launchpad.net/nova/+spec/aws-vpc-support
Specification
https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Blueprint-aws-vpc-support
The changes are orthogonal to Amazon EC2 APIs but follow the
same model as the EC2 API source code. In addition new unit
tests have been added to cover all the VPC tests.
Please review the blueprint - all comments are welcome.
Thank you,
Rudra
