Hi,

I think its worth sharing the news on our current plans for the future
of the Nova API.

So Nova's v2 API is our first API (its v1.1 that was renamed, based on
the API for the Rackspace First Gen Cloud offering (aka slicehost)).

A few years back, we started to create v3 API, but a long while after
realised we would never be able to quickly delete the v2 API, so we
killed v3, and after much hard thinking we agreed a way to more easily
evolve the v2 API (re-using lots of the code from the v3 effort), in a
way thats more interoperable, and will better support the rich
ecosystem around the Nova API. At the end of kilo we finally have the
initial code passing all tempest tests, but there is a lot more work
to get over the finish line on this effort.

For more details see this awesome blog on the topic:

Let me know if there are any questions. I am happy to answer them.

Thanks,
John
