Hi, Following a recent discussion, I was going to make sure the team IRC channel is logged at http://eavesdrop.openstack.org/. Then I realized the IRC channel name #openstack-translation is not really consistent with the project team name "i18n" and the mailing-list name "openstack-i18n". Would it make sense to rename the IRC channel to #openstack-i18n? Thanks, Adrien

Hello, Without opposition to this suggestion, I went ahead, registered the channel appropriately and proposed: https://review.openstack.org/205979 https://review.openstack.org/205980 Please review! Thanks, Adrien
Hi, Adrien Thank you for bringing it up. I agree to change to be consensus. But we have used #openstack-translsation for a long time. It's well known within the community. Could we keep both of them for a while, till most people change to the new channel? Best regards Ying Chun Guo (Daisy) Adrien Cunin <adrien@adriencunin.fr> wrote on 07/27/2015 05:47:17 PM:

Hello, I understand the concern, and as I said in the review I don't think this will be a problem as we will set up a redirect so people joining #openstack-translation will automatically end up in #openstack-i18n. That, as well as a formal announcement to the translators that they should update their IRC bookmarks/autojoins, should make the transition seamless. Adrien

Let me know if you need any help setting up the redirect, I've done it before and can help out. -- Elizabeth Krumbach Joseph || Lyz || pleia2

I've just asked the people in #openstack-translation to make the move over to #i18n now. I'll put in the actual redirect this Friday evening UTC to give people some time to move over themselves. -- Elizabeth Krumbach Joseph || Lyz || pleia2

The move has been completed and the channel is logged: http://eavesdrop.openstack.org/irclogs/%23openstack-i18n/ The redirect has also been set up, so when people try to join #openstack-translation they will be automatically redirected to #openstack-i18n. You'll still want to update your IRC client to point to the new channel to avoid the redirection. If you try to join both you will get a notice saying you're banned from #openstack-translation, so don't do that :) People have been joining the new channel automatically all day so it seems to be working fine, but let me know if you have any problems. -- Elizabeth Krumbach Joseph || Lyz || pleia2
