How to use partially completed languages for devstack horizon?
Hi i18n, I'm potentially giving a dashboard demo in Moscow next week, and thought it would be cool if I could change the language settings to use our almost-complete Russian translation. Does anyone have some easy steps I can follow to download the PO file from transifex and then configure devstack to use it? Regards, Tom
Take a look at this wiki page to see if it can help. https://github.com/OpenStack-I18n/Translation/wiki/Horizon-I18n-Test Regards Ying Chun Guo (Daisy) Tom Fifield <tom@openstack.org> wrote on 2013/09/28 20:53:29:
OK, so you just need to add the line in /opt/stack/horizon/openstack_dashboard/settings.py and restart the server. I will update the doc. Regards, Tom On 28/09/13 23:59, Tom Fifield wrote:
Hi Tom, Localized dashboard is very nice for a demo :-) You are very quick! Nice addition. While i was editing a page, you have already done it. I made a minor clean up. Daisy, Why is the wiki page posted on GitHub not on wiki.openstack.org? Thanks, Akihiro On Sat, Sep 28, 2013 at 11:02 PM, Tom Fifield <tom@openstack.org> wrote:

Because I don't know if it is appropriate to put in Openstack wiki. I see many general topics are in the wiki, like how to contribute, how to contact, how to report bugs. I don't see much technical details in the wiki. Beside the wiki, OpenStack projects has a website to publish their detail technical information, like: http://docs.openstack.org/developer/nova/ Not sure if we should compose such a website for i18n yet. But the Github wiki can be a place to put such information temporarily. We can discuss where to put these information. If most of us think openstack wiki can be a good place to put detail information, I'm OK to move. Regards Ying Chun Guo (Daisy) Akihiro Motoki <amotoki@gmail.com> wrote on 2013/09/28 22:21:02:
I think you can follow the guidance in Akihiro Motoki to add more languages: "Yes, Users can customize the language list by editing OpenStack Dashboard setting files (settings.py). Note that OpenStack Dashboard has two settings files: settings.py and local_settings.py, local_settings.py contains configuration parameters which users usually configure, and settings.py contains parameters which are less required to configure."
