Thanks Kamélia. So, %s (and %d, and %(...) ) are special "variable" strings, which will be substituted by the program when it is running. For example: ALLOW %(from)s:%(to)s from %(group)s might become ALLOW 22:23 from MySecurityGroup So, when translating them, you can put the %-variables wherever you need to in the sentence - you just need to make sure they are unmodified, so eg %(from)s is found in both the source and translated string. does that make sense? Hi,
Thank you for replying.
Actually, my problem is that we write Arabic from right to left, and I don't know How I should translate sentences like: Unable to modify domain "%s".
I have 2 possibilities:
1/ "s%" لا يمكن تعديل النطاق (accepted by transifex) 2/ "%s" لا يمكن تعديل النطاق (got error with transifex)
I think that the second solution will work, but I need to test before going ahead with the translation.
Regards,
Kamélia.

Hi,
Thanks for the excellent question.
Shall we perhaps take this discussion to the OpenStack-Internationalisation mailing list:
http://lists.openstack.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/openstack-i18n
? I think it would be more appropriate there.
Regards,
Tom
