FedCSIS a yearly international multi-conference organized by the Polish Information Processing Society (PTI) in technical cooperation with the IEEE Region 8, IEEE Poland (Gdansk) Section Computer Society Chapter, Poland Section Computational Intelligence Society Chapter, ACM Special Interest Group on Applied Computing, Lodz ACM Chapter, European Alliance for Innovation, Polish Operational and Systems Research Society - POSRS, Eastern Cluster ICT Poland, Mazovia Cluster ICT. The field of agent technology is rapidly maturing. One of key factors that influence this process is the gathered body of knowledge that allows in-depth reflection on the very nature of designing and implementing agent systems. As a result, there is now significant knowledge on how to design and implement them. There is also a deeper understanding of the most important issues to be addressed in the process. Therefore, on the top-most level a progress in development of methodologies for design of agent-based systems can be seen. Furthermore, these methodologies are usually supported by tools that allow not only top level conceptualization but guide the process towards implementation (e.g. by generating at least some code). Next, it can seen that new languages for agent based systems are created, e.g. AML or API Calculus. Separately, tools/platforms/environments that can be used for design and implementation of agent systems have been through a number of releases, eliminating problems and adding new, important features. Resulting products are becoming truly robust and flexible. Furthermore, open source products (e.g. JADE) are surrounded by user communities, which often generate powerful add-on components, further increasing value of existing solutions. TOPICS ======================================= The Workshop primarily focuses on all aspects of the process that leads from the model of the problem domain to the actual agent-based solution. These aspects will cover both principled approaches and established practices of software engineering aimed at producing high quality software. In this context, research into the application of agent-based solutions to key challenges faced by software engineering (e.g. reduction of costs and delivery times, coping with a larger diversity of problems) will be of primary importance. ABC:MI Workshop welcomes submissions of original papers concerning all aspects of software agent engineering. Topics include but are not limited to: - Methodologies for design of agent systems - Multi-agent systems product lines - Modeling agent systems - Agent architectures - Agent-based simulations - Simulating and verifying agent systems - Agent benchmarking and performance measurement - Agent communication, coordination and cooperation - Organization and self-organization of agent systems - Agent languages - Agent learning and planning - Agent mobility - Agent modeling, calculi, and logic - Agent security - Agents and Service Oriented Computing - Agents in the Semantic Web - Applications and Experiences PAPER SUBMISSION AND PUBLICATION ======================================= Papers should be submitted by April 18, 2016 (strict deadline). Call for Dissemination Events Federated Conference on Computer Science and Information Systems Gdansk, Poland, 11-14 September, 2016 _www.fedcsis.org_ <file:///C:/Users/Kasia/www.fedcsis.org> The 2016 Federated Conference on Computer Science and Information Systems cordially invites you to consider contributing a “Dissemination Event.” A number of grant mechanisms (in particular, EU / NATO-funded research / coordination actions) involve dissemination of results in the form of workshops, symposia, etc. Since the FedCSIS multi-conference consists of a significant number of events related to various areas of ICT, it is a natural place for organization of grant-related events. Proposals for new Dissemination Events are going to be accepted until December 15, 2015. The Events can run over any span of time within the conference dates; from half-day to four days. Publications Dissemination Events are offered an opportunity to publish an individual volume in the Annals of Computer Science and Information Systems (ACSIS) series (_http://annals-csis.org/_). Publication will have ISBN, ISSN and DOI numbers and will be submitted to citation indexing engines (including SCOPUS, DBLP and Google Scholar). Dissemination Event Proposals Dissemination event proposals should include the following information (2 pages maximum): 1. CALL FOR EVENTS Federated Conference on Computer Science and Information Systems Gdansk, Poland, 11-14 September, 2016 www.fedcsis.org The 2016 Federated Conference on Computer Science and Information Systems cordially invites you to consider contributing an Event (conference, symposium, workshop, consortium meeting, project dissemination meeting, special session, etc.). The FedCSIS multi-conference consists of a significant number of recurring Events and it welcomes proposals for new Events until October 30, 2015. The Events can run over any span of time within the conference dates; from half-day to three days. The FedCSIS Events provide a platform for bringing together researchers, practitioners, and academia to present and discuss ideas, challenges, and potential solutions on established or emerging topics related to research and practice in computer science and information systems. The Events will be selected based on the scientific/technical interest and/or their relevance to practitioners in their topics, the clarity of the proposal in addressing the requested information, the innovativeness of the Event topics, and the fit with the FedCSIS multi-conference program. The FedCSIS 2015 - held in Lodz, Poland - attracted 379 papers, of which 86 were accepted as full papers (acceptance rate of approximately 23%). Some events accepted additionally short and position papers. FedCSIS 2015 full and short papers are being submitted to the IEEE Xplore Digital Library, while position papers are being published in a separate volume of the Annals of Computer Science and Information systems series (publication process will be completed by November 30, 2015). PUBLICATIONS As in previous years, FedCSIS preprints will be published on a USB memory stick given to FedCSIS participants. Only papers presented during the conference will be submitted to the IEEE Xplore Digital Library (or will appear as position papers, published in a separate volume), and posted at the conference WWW site. The IEEE DL proceedings will be published with an ISBN, ISSN and DOI numbers (and, an IEEE Catalog number), under a nonexclusive copyright. During the summit HPC discussions (https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/YVR-ops-hpc), there was a general feeling that the dedicated HPC list was not reaching a critical level and that we would attract a larger discussion base using a tag on the openstack-operators list. I would therefore propose that future HPC discussions take place on the openstack-operators list with the "[hpc]" tag in the subject line and that we close this list at the end of July. CALL FOR PAPERS Scalable Computing: Practice and Experience (www.scpe.org) Special Issue: High Performance Computing Solutions for Complex Problems In the last decades, the complexity of the current and upcoming scientific/engineering problems has increased considerably. Computations involved in numerical and physical simulations, molecular dynamics, fluid dynamics, bio-informatics, image processing, information retrieval, or big data analysis are just a few examples of such problems. At the same time, improvements in high performance computing (HPC) systems are mainly associated with an increased complexity of computer architectures, resulting in increasing challenges in code optimization. This results in an increasing gap between the general scientific / engineering user community (in need of easy access to efficient high performance computations) and the HPC programmers community (who design codes for narrow sub-classes of problems). As a result, development of user-friendly codes for non-HPC-trained user community becomes a big challenge. As a matter of fact, effective use of HPC centers requires specialized / individual training for each user group. The aim of this special issue report on efforts to reduce this gap by means of bringing new ways to face the growing complexity of problems that are to be solved. Specifically, we would like to address challenges involved in implementing large and complex problems on current and upcoming platforms, composed of a high number of computational cores. Thus, the issues to be addressed should deal with communication, programming, heterogeneous architectures, load balancing, benchmarking, etc. However, the overall goal should be development of solutions that are going to be usable by non-HPC-trained domain specialists. TOPICS Authors are invited to submit manuscripts which present original and unpublished research in all areas related with complex problems solving via parallel and distributed processing, i.e., works focused on emerging solutions to face with big computing challenges on HPC systems are specially welcome. Relevant topics include, but are not limited to: - Benchmarking, performance and scalability of algorithms, data structures, tools, etc - Code adapting to take advantages of latest computational features. - New strategies to improve performance. - Adaptive self-tuning computing systems. - New transparent, portable, and hardware diagnostic programming paradigms. - Advances in current or upcoming HPC tools. - Communication, synchronization, load balancing. The SCPE journal has a rigorous peer-reviewing process and papers will be reviewed by at least three S.C. referees. Anyone who would like to help out with the session organisation are welcome to add themselves to the Helpers list on https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/YVR-ops-hpc. I’ve had a number of productive discussions in the past summits where cloud/HPC/HTC folk get together and having something very interactive is the aim. Equally, feel free to add topics you’d like to find out if others have found solutions for to the etherpad…. We may not find solutions on the day but getting together people who share the same problems is already a major step forward. NUMA config

Hi all, Just reading over the docs describing NUMA scheduler filter testing (http://docs.openstack.org/developer/nova/devref/testing/libvirt-numa.html#t…). Somewhat confused by the scenario at the end, which seems to call for a guest with 1 NUMA node but looks like it gets created with 2... I'm obviously misunderstanding something in the resultant XML, but there's no topology info shown from inside the guest, so I'm not sure. Anyone tried this? -- Cheers, ~Blairo
