[openstack-dev] [puppet] [stable] Deprecation of newton branches
Hello, We've been talking for a while about the deprecation and removal of the stable/newton branches. I think it's time now that we get rid of them, we have no open patches and Newton is considered EOL. Could cores get back with a quick feedback and then the stable team can get rid of those whenever they have time. +1 for me, I haven't seen much interest in keeping these branches for puppet modules. I also would like to hear from our users though. On Mon, Nov 19, 2018 at 3:18 AM Tobias Urdin <tobias.urdin@binero.se> wrote:

With my core hat, I would give it a +1. At this point, it has no open patches and the last one we merged was 7 months ago. https://review.openstack.org/#/q/projects:openstack/puppet-+-project:opensta... https://review.openstack.org/#/q/projects:openstack/puppet-+-project:opensta... I can't speak about it as an operator as we don't run anything that old. On Mon, Nov 19, 2018 at 7:43 AM Emilien Macchi <emilien@redhat.com> wrote:

Hello, This got lost way down in my mailbox. I think we have a consensus about getting rid of the newton branches. Does anybody in Stable release team have time to deprecate the stable/newton branches? Best regards Tobias On 11/19/2018 06:21 PM, Alex Schultz wrote:

Just to be clear You're asking for the following repos to be marked EOL (current origin/stable/newton tagged as newton-eol and deleted, any open reviews abandoned) : # EOL repos belonging to Puppet OpenStack eol_branch.sh -- stable/newton newton-eol \ openstack/puppet-aodh openstack/puppet-barbican \ openstack/puppet-ceilometer openstack/puppet-cinder \ openstack/puppet-designate openstack/puppet-glance \ openstack/puppet-gnocchi openstack/puppet-heat \ openstack/puppet-horizon openstack/puppet-ironic \ openstack/puppet-keystone openstack/puppet-magnum \ openstack/puppet-manila openstack/puppet-mistral \ openstack/puppet-murano openstack/puppet-neutron \ openstack/puppet-nova \ openstack/puppet-openstack-integration \ openstack/puppet-openstack_extras \ openstack/puppet-openstack_spec_helper \ openstack/puppet-openstacklib openstack/puppet-oslo \ openstack/puppet-ovn openstack/puppet-sahara \ openstack/puppet-swift openstack/puppet-tempest \ openstack/puppet-trove openstack/puppet-vswitch \ openstack/puppet-zaqar Yours Tony.
Hello Tony, Yes that list is correct and complete, please go ahead. Thanks! On 12/05/2018 06:06 AM, Tony Breeds wrote:
