[largescale-sig] Next meeting: January 15, 9utc
Hi everyone, The Large Scale SIG will be meeting this Wednesday in #openstack-operators on OFTC IRC, at 9UTC. You can doublecheck how that UTC time translates locally at: https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?iso=20250115T09 Feel free to add topics to the agenda: https://etherpad.opendev.org/p/large-scale-sig-meeting Regards, -- Thierry Carrez
Hi everyone, Since nobody was available at the meeting time, I decided to turn that meeting into an email thread :) I had two main topics to cover. 1. Large Scale OpenStack Virtual Meetups We held our first Large Scale OpenStack Virtual Meetup back in December, with Rackspace as the special guest. If you missed it, you can access the recording there: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RU9ly4bsOAg That was a great success, special thanks to Kevin Carter for making the conversation so deep and engaging. We want to do a new one this quarter, and need to decide on dates and special guest. Regarding guest, I have a few on my list I want to engage with, see if they are interested (Walmart, Nexgen...) but if you have other suggestions, please mention them in this thread. For dates, that will have to be discussed with the guest, but I'd like to target sometimes in January. Felix, Arnaud: if there are periods in February where you are not available, let me know! 2. Meeting rotation During the meetup we discussed coming back to a meeting time rotation for the SIG meetings, to allow people in the US (including Kevin) to join us. We used to rotate between a EU+APAC and a EU+US time, but gave up on the EU+US time after a few no-shows. Given that we haven't had a participant from APAC join the meeting in recent times, I think we can consider going back to alternating times... However the meeting scheduling system does not really support meetings that happen every 2 months (my fault, I wrote most of it), so I'm not exactly sure how to restore rotation without doubling the frequency of meetings, or diving back into https://opendev.org/opendev/yaml2ical code. Let me know what you think. Our next meeting is (at this point) scheduled for February 19 at 9utc on #openstack-operators on OFTC. Cheers, -- Thierry Carrez (ttx)
Hi, Sorry for this late answer. About the Virtual Meetup, I believe it was a nice shot and I receive multiple callbacks stating that this was very nice. Thank you Kevin! For the next one, I do not have any specific idea in mind so I'll let you figure that out Thierry, maybe Felix or someone else on the mailing list would have an idea about a guest? Or maybe being a guest talking about there large-scale deployments? Because January is almost done, I don't believe that will happen this month :) I am generally available in Feb., execpt between 10 to 14. I am totally fine with the new meeting rotation to have a more US friendly timezone. Unfortunately I won't have time to work on the tool.. Cheers, Arnaud On 15.01.25 - 10:31, Thierry Carrez wrote:

Hi, February also works for me. But I currently have no guest idea. Would maybe one of the other people that joined in the last meetup want to share their deployments? Thanks a lot, Felix
