[all] Looking for low hanging fruits bugs for first time contributors
Hello, stackers! Next week, Goutham and I will be hosting a workshop at the OpenInfra Days North America for new contributors, where we are focusing on getting people to submit code to OpenStack projects for the first time. For that, we would like to create a pool of low-hanging-fruit bugs from multiple projects that the attendees could choose what bug they would like to spend some time on fixing. We would like to extend this to all projects, so we would like to ask for your much needed help: If you are aware of an unassigned low hanging fruit bug in the project you are maintaining that could be easily fixed, it would be of much help if you please add it to this etherpad [1], alongside a comment mentioning how you imagine the fix for it. If we don't get assignees this time, no worries, we are always trying to get similar types of bugs for onboarding in our internship initiatives, so it can be picked up later. This is a great opportunity to get a minor doc updated, formatting tightened up on a patch that's been merged, or any other small task done. So if a bug doesn't already exist please make one and let Carlos and Goutham know. Amy(spotz) On Wed, Oct 9, 2024 at 1:28 PM Carlos Silva <ces.eduardo98@gmail.com> wrote:

In the Ironic community, you can search our projects for `low-hanging-fruit` tags: e.g. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ironic/+bugs?field.tag=low-hanging-fruit Each Ironic project has it's own bugtracker in Launchpad, the full list is here: https://docs.openstack.org/ironic/latest/contributor/bug-deputy.html#bug-tri... If any of the folks need help getting started, feel free to reach out on IRC. Thanks, Jay Faulkner On Wed, Oct 9, 2024 at 11:30 AM Carlos Silva <ces.eduardo98@gmail.com> wrote:
