[TripleO][rdo][train][centos7] fails at ovn_south_db_server: Start containers for step 4 using paunch
Hi all, I am running this deployment described here [1]. I am getting error on: Start containers for step 4 using paunch Error in link bellow [2] Running podman containers [3] links: 1 - https://github.com/qw3r3wq/homelab/tree/master/overcloud 2 - https://pastebin.com/HTUbz7Ry 3 - https://pastebin.com/1ApfiEyE -- Ruslanas Gžibovskis +370 6030 7030
hi all again. I still and still and again fail on similar steps. Using CentOS7 and eth# as net device names. still running on tripleo-ansible version number 4.1.0 (instead of 5.0.0) which should be fixed [0]. 1) failing on OVN config, should I try not using OVN? just OVS? 2) first most annoying problem is that on a first deployment it cannot connect to the controller/compute, but I can ssh using ssh -l heat-admin IP BUT, on the second launch it is always able to connect from first attempt. 3) When using undercloud as repo for container images, it fails, as undercloud ins not added to insecure registries, how should I add it? should it be specified in undercloud.conf as insecure registry? could you please give me some hints, please? external links: [0] https://review.opendev.org/#/c/725783 On Wed, 13 May 2020 at 20:14, Ruslanas Gžibovskis <ruslanas@lpic.lt> wrote:

You mentioned tripleo-ansible but the link is for a new release of paunch. I understand you need a build for paunch-5.3.2. We are in the process and building it and pushing to train repos in centos mirrors. In the meanwhile you can get the python2-paunch package from https://trunk.rdoproject.org/centos7-train/consistent/

I have issues with OVN deployment, Is there an option to use OVS (as I understand OVS component was replaced by OVN?).
Yes default is OVN, and it should work fine in Train. For the Error you are facing it looks like ovn_south_db_server container is not running on controller node for some reason, can u check with: sudopodman ps -a if it's in Exited state, also try to see if there are some logs which describe why it failed with: sudo podman logs ovn_south_db_server.
If you still want to try OVS instead, could be done, There exist environment file[1] which can be used to override default ovn to ovs. Just pass -e ${_THT}/environments/services/neutron-ovs.yaml in the end of overcloud deploy comand. Deploy command:
_THT="/usr/share/openstack-tripleo-heat-templates" _LTHT="$(pwd)"
time openstack --verbose overcloud deploy \ --templates \ --stack rem0te \ -r ${_LTHT}/roles_data.yaml \ -n ${_LTHT}/network_data.yaml \ -e ${_LTHT}/containers-prepare-parameter.yaml \ -e ${_LTHT}/overcloud_images.yaml \ -e ${_THT}/environments/disable-telemetry.yaml \ -e ${_THT}/environments/host-config-and-reboot.yaml \ --ntp-server
