[oslo] RFE requested for oslo-messaging
Dear Release Team, We experienced strange freezes and timeouts for a long time on our OpenStack deployment [1] and some duplicate messages [2]. After applying the fixes [3], [4] both bugs are gone. Is a freeze exception possible for these? Thanks! nkalyanov [1] https://bugs.launchpad.net/oslo.messaging/+bug/1935864 [2] https://bugs.launchpad.net/oslo.messaging/+bug/1935883 [3] https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/oslo.messaging/+/800564 [4] https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/oslo.messaging/+/800575

Hmm, I have read the bug reports out of curiosity and I think we might be hitting these issues randomly in Kolla CI (due to load or bad network). (I am obviously unsure whether the proposed fixes are correct or not.) As these are bugfixes, they should not need a freeze exception per se. I hope Oslo messaging cores respond soon. -yoctozepto

Yes simply need a RFE (requirement freeze exception) as we past the requirement freeze date. Le jeu. 9 sept. 2021 à 13:01, Radosław Piliszek <radoslaw.piliszek@gmail.com> a écrit :

Since we cut the Xena branches for Oslo, I went ahead and merged these patches to master. We'll need to backport them anyway at this point (and I think we want to backport them as far as we can). On 9/9/21 8:38 AM, Herve Beraud wrote:

I believe we have seen that issue a couple of times already, causing a lot of headaches with missed metrics. IHMO it would be a bugfix and not a new feature and thus a feature freeze would not really take place here. Matthias

I proposed backports for these both bug fixes [1][2]. Thanks to validate them to allow us to land them with the final Xena. When those patches will be merged I'll propose a new bugfix release for Xena.
