My name is Sarah and I am the External Vice President at UC Berkeley’s Student Association for Applied Statistics (SAAS). Nice to meet you!

I’m reaching out to share some details about World of Data, an annual in-person Data Science Career Fair at UC Berkeley hosted by SAAS <https://saas.berkeley.edu/>, DSS <https://dssberkeley.com/>, and BDAB <https://bd.berkeley.edu/>, Berkeley’s leading student-run organizations for projects and education in data science. We are selective organizations that have helped several hundred Berkeley students cultivate their knowledge in data-related career fields and land positions at outstanding companies. Last September, the first-ever World of Data Career Fair reached an audience of over 400+ with companies such as Micron Technology and Accenture in attendance. We are looking forward to hosting the event again this fall at an even greater scale!

This year, we would love to have OpenInfra Foundation participate in World of Data on September 20th, 2023.

Our goal, as always, is to show our talented student body how data science can be applied to solve real-world problems in a diverse range of industries.

We would love to collaborate with OpenInfra Foundation and learn how you leverage data science techniques to advance your company’s mission. The event will revolve around networking and connecting between students and recruiters at individual company booths, with a focus on data science/machine learning internships and full-time opportunities for summer 2024.

In the past, our organizations have hosted events such as career fairs with 500+ attendees, annual Data Science Forums with 800+ attendees, annual Datathons for Social Good, and much more. Additionally, with university departmental support and our organization’s existing networks, we once again expect strong participation from promising students in the Statistics, Computer Science, and Data Science communities.
