Support For Openstack Charms juju and MaaS Deployment
Good day to every one of you , Please what is the advantage of using the above subject deployment process compare to the manual installation process i have been using . I will be really happy for any one with openstack charms deployment knowledge support me thanks
I have never tried the Ubuntu methods, but I can tell you this. First, without knowing your situation, the correct answer is always "it depends". Having said that, in almost all cases, any automated deployment is better than manual deployment. An automated process is easier and more robust. It's also more robust during operation, since it is likely to have tools for managing and updating your cloud. Downside: You probably lose flexibility. Bernd. On 2022/03/20 3:12 PM, Wada Akor wrote:

All of the pre-built deployment tooling also allows a certain level of sensible defaults. These tools are effectively built from the common pool of knowledge of dozens of operators/enterprises. Trying to build your own is a bit like re-inventing the wheel. On Sun, Mar 20, 2022 at 3:41 AM Bernd Bausch <berndbausch@gmail.com> wrote:

If you ignore ubuntu technologies (someone uses juju outside?) then you have OpenStack Kayobe/Kolla-ansible using Ansible to deploy on baremetal.

Most deployment automation tooling aims to reduce the cost in terms of time to deploy and manage whatever workload they are associated with and the OpenStack Charms are aligned to this philosophy. The main project deployment guide can be found here: https://docs.openstack.org/project-deploy-guide/charm-deployment-guide/lates... and the charm guide has quite a bit of documentation around how to use the chams for various operational activities once you're up and running: https://docs.openstack.org/charm-guide/latest/ You can find the community of both users and developers of the charms on IRC: #openstack-charms on OFTC or on the charmhub mattermost channel (although that tends to be quieter): https://chat.charmhub.io/charmhub/channels/openstack-charms Hope that helps get you started. Cheers James
