Hi Julia, I see we haven’t pushed it live to openstack.org/analytics <http://openstack.org/analytics> yet. I have pinged our team so that we can, but if you need metrics in the meantime, please let me know. Thanks! Allison

Hey Allison, Metrics would be awesome and I'm just looking for the key high level adoption information as that is good to put into the presentation. -Julia On Wed, Apr 7, 2021 at 3:15 PM Allison Price <allison@openstack.org> wrote:

Hi Julia, It looks like for Ironic, 19% of production environments are running it in production, 15% running it in testing, and 22% are interested. It’s a little down from 2019, but it was also a smaller sample size (2019: 331; 2020: 209). I am hoping to get a bigger turnout this year (tell all your friends!) so that we can get a better picture. Let me know if there is any other data you would like pulled. Thanks! Allison

Thanks Allison! Even telling friends doesn't really help, since we would be self-skewing. I guess part of the conundrum is it is easy for people not to really be fully aware of the extent of their usage and the mix of various projects under the hood. They know they get a star ship and it has warp engines, but they may not know the factory that turned out the starship. Only the geekiest might know those details. Anyway, I've been down this path before w/r/t the user survey. C'est la vie. Back to work! -Julia On Fri, Apr 9, 2021 at 12:07 PM Allison Price <allison@openstack.org> wrote:

Hi Brian and Goutham, Thank you for participating! Yes, it will be a live session. As for length, we are aiming for 5-10 minutes per presenter (this number kind of depends on how many people we have signup to present, so I can give y'all a better idea tomorrow what the length should be). Hi Thomas, Yes, we have been exploring free software alternatives like Jitsi. We are actually using Jitsi for our upcoming PTG for almost half of the project teams. Researching the best solution that has the most accessibility for the global community is an ongoing initiative and we are trying to identify and implement the tools that make sense for the different use cases based on our experience. As we host more community meetings and continue our search of other tools (including some test runs), the tool may change, but for now we are planning to move forward with Zoom so that we can stream to YouTube and record for community members in different time zones. We will continue to keep the mailing list updated if we switch tools / move in a different direction. Appreciate your patience as we continue to navigate virtual meetings and events. Cheers, Allison

FYI, the Debian Video (for online Debconf /Mini-Debconf) can stream to the web or to VLC to a (very) large audience, the output of a Jitsi meeting. That proved to work perfectly for the last summer Debconf. Maybe you could dig into it? Of course, the video gets also recorded, so you may later upload it to Youtube / Peertube... Hoping this helps.
