Hi, The election uses the Condorcet Internet Voting Service (CIVS). Due to CIVS policy, to vote in private CIVS polls, you must opt in to email communication. To opt in, please enter your Gerrit email address in the following page before the start of the election Sep 04, 2024 23:45 UTC, and confirm with the code that will sent to you via email. https://civs1.civs.us/cgi-bin/opt_in.pl If you have any question, please contact the election officials. https://governance.openstack.org/election/#election-officials -- Slawek Kaplonski Principal Software Engineer Red Hat

Hi, if I follow the above instructions the Website displays the following message, after entering the activation code:
This email address is already activated.
Pending poll invitations:
OpenStack 2024.1 Cycle Technical Committee Election Poll
The above is a link to the previous election. Is this intended, or the way it's supposed to work? I'm a little bit confused because by the wording it seems that my address is activated already, but for the previous poll? Do I need to activate it again for the current one, e.g. is the above a "bug"? Or is everything fine and I'm just misunderstanding? It's sufficient, yes. You don't need to opt in repeatedly, once you've opted into receiving E-mail from CIVS it should allow future ballots from any poll. The "pending poll invitations" is for prior polls where you were part of the electorate (possibly only ones where you didn't cast a ballot since the one you mention is from a year ago). -- Jeremy Stanley
