[cinder] xena feature freeze
The Xena feature freeze for cinder is now in effect. Please do not approve patches proposing features for master until after the stable/xena branch has been cut the week of 13 September. The following blueprints are granted feature freeze exceptions: - https://blueprints.launchpad.net/cinder/+spec/s-rbac-ready-x - https://blueprints.launchpad.net/cinder/+spec/remove-sqlalchemy-migrate Any other feature patches (including driver features) that have not yet merged and are associated with an approved xena blueprint may apply for a Feature Freeze Exception by replying to this email before Tuesday, 7 September at 20:00 UTC. Note that application for an FFE is not a guarantee that an FFE will be granted. Grant of an FFE is not a guarantee that the code will be merged for Xena. It is expected that patches granted an FFE will be merged by 21:00 UTC on Monday 13 September. Bugfixes do not require an FFE. To be included in Xena, they must be merged before the first Release Candidate is cut on Thursday 16 September. After that point, only release-critical bugfixes will be allowed into the Xena release. Ping me in IRC if you have any questions. cheers, brian
Hi Team, I'd like to request FFE to the following changes: [1] Netapp ONTAP: Add support to revert to snapshot https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/cinder/+/804093 - Patch adds support for the revert to snapshot feature to the NetApp Cinder drivers. [2] NetApp ONTAP: Add option to report storage provisioned capacity https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/cinder/+/798198 - Patch adds an option to enable a new pool capability provisioned_capacity_gb that reports storage provisioned volume sizes directly from the storage system, instead of relying on the default scheduler's behavior based on internal states. Both changes and their blueprints were submitted in time and there has been significant progress in the reviews until this point. They are isolated to the NetApp driver module, and have no impact on the Cinder database, REST/RPC and APIs. These patches have both had +2s at some point in the reviewing process, and it looks like the only changes have been merge conflict resolution, so these are granted FFEs subject to the caveats in original email. On 9/3/21 5:09 PM, Fernando Ferraz wrote:

Hi Team, I'd like to request FFE to the following change: [1] Hitachi: Add generic volume groups https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/cinder/+/782910 - This patch adds consistency group capability as generic volume groups for the Hitachi driver. This is a fairly large patch, but it is confined to a single driver and is unlikely to impact the main cinder code. I feel a lot better about its code coverage since you figured out the unit test discovery problem. So this patch is granted an FFE subject to the caveats in the original email. Hi Andrei, [1] and [2] are granted FFEs; they've had +2s at various points and probably would have merged before the deadline except for some gate weirdness. I think you have a typo in [3], and are referring to: https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/cinder/+/794962 Please go ahead and abandon [3] as it's no longer relevant. (As the reason, you can say "Superseded by https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/cinder/+/806726 and https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/cinder/+/806559".)
