[nova][placement] Wallaby release
Hi, We are getting close to the Wallaby release. So I create a tracking etherpad[1] with the schedule and TODOs. One thing that I want to highlight is that we will hit Feature Freeze on 11th of March. As the timeframe between FF and RC1 is short I'm not plannig with FFEs. Patches that are approved before 11 March EOB can be rechecked or rebased if needed and then re-approved. If you have a patch that is really close but not approved before the deadline, and you think there are two cores that willing to review it before RC1, then please send a mail to the ML with [nova][FFE] subject prefix not later than 16th of March EOB. Cheers, gibi [1] https://etherpad.opendev.org/p/nova-wallaby-rc-potential
Hi, So we hit Feature Freeze yesterday. I've update launchpad blueprint statuses to reflect reality. There are couple of series that was approved before the freeze but haven't landed yet. We are pushing these through the gate: * pci-socket-affinity https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/nova/+/772779 * port-scoped-sriov-numa-affinity https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/nova/+/773792 * https://review.opendev.org/q/topic:bp/compact-db-migrations-wallaby+status:o... * https://review.opendev.org/q/topic:bp/allow-secure-boot-for-qemu-kvm-guests+... We are finishing up the work on https://review.opendev.org/q/topic:vhost-vdpa+status:open where FFE is being requested. Hi, We merged both the placement[1] and the nova[2] RC1 release patches that means Wallaby is now branched out to stable/wallaby. However this does not mean that master is fully open to Xena yet. Please only merge patches to master that are either needs backport and a new RC of Wallaby, or setting up the master to Xena or really low risk like doc and tooling patches. Master expected to be fully open for Xena after the last RC deadly which is 2 weeks from now. The specs repositories are open for Xena patches. Please triage incoming bugs, prepare for the coming PTG[3] and look at open specs for Xena. Thank you all who contributed to the Wallaby release! We finished 14 out of the 20 approved blueprints (70%) in this cycle. I think this is a excellent number (last cycle it was 9 bp and around ~60% completion).
