[openstack-ansible] Linux bridge support
Hi Team We are currently having openstack-ansible Antelope (2023.1) release and have linux bridge currently. We are planning SLUP upgrades from Antelope to Caracal, and than from Caracal to Epoxy. Please confirm if we can still use linux bridge and continue with the upgrades or we need to mandatory move away from linux bridge as linux bridge is now experimental feature before doing the upgrades. We are planning to move away from linux bridge after upgrading to Epoxy release. Please let me know potential issues that can arise with this plan. Regards Rambo
Hey, Linux bridge is removed from Neutron in Epoxy release already. So you either are capped with Dalmatian, or you will need to keep Neutron on Dalmatian (or use some kind of fork) while getting other components to Epoxy. On Tue, 5 Aug 2025, 10:46 Rambo Rambo, <ram.ramb2412@gmail.com> wrote:

it will be removed in nova/os-vif in the near future too. i just have not had time to do it but we stopped testing it in epoxy when it was remvoed form neutron. tl;dr i have been too busy this cycle to create the patch to delete the code in nova. the patch for os-vif is written i just need to rebase it. i was considering doing that before the non-client lib freeze this/next week but i might defer it to early 2026.1 where i can and do the removal in both nova and os-vif at the same time. i am very unlikely to find time to do the nova cleanup before FF so i think im jsut going to wait till next cycle to do that at this point.
