[neutron][neutron-vpnaas][release] dropping feature/lbaasv2 branch
Hi there, It looks like we've managed to track along a feature/lbaasv2 branch into neutron-vpnaas all the way from 2014 :) I'd like to request for the release team to delete that branch if possible. :) Thanks, Mohammed -- Mohammed Naser VEXXHOST, Inc.
Hi, Thanks Mohammed, I agree with it, as I see feature/lbaasv2 is long left abandoned. I think the usual way, delete the branch but add a tag on top of it to keep it if somebody appears for it can work for it. Lajos Mohammed Naser <mnaser@vexxhost.com> ezt írta (időpont: 2022. máj. 24., K, 18:34):

Hi, I agree that feature/lbaasv2 branch in vpnaas is unnecessary and we can drop it. neutron-vpnaas was originally developed in the main neutron repository and advanced services like vpnaas were split out into separate repositories around Dec 2014. When splitting out advanced services, we use git filter-branch or similar command to keep all commit history. feature/lbaasv2 branch was used to develop LBaaSv2 before splitting out advanced services and we forgot to clean up unrelated branches. This is the history of feature/lbaasv2 branch. Considering this, feature/lbaasv2 branch is completely unnecessary for neutron-vpnaas. I don't think we need a tag before deleting the branch. Hi, @Akihiro: does that mean that the branch content is not relevant or it means that the branch content/history can be found in an other repository? Anyway, let me know what is the team's preference (to tag it or not before we delete it) and I'll do accordingly. Thanks, Előd (irc: elodilles) On 2022. 05. 26. 10:44, Akihiro Motoki wrote:

The latter. If you look at the history of the feature/lbaasv2 branch in openstack/neutron-vpnaas you'll see that the most recent commit (other than the bulk OpenDev migration from 2019) has Change-Id Iba59aa20adc6b369b4b9d250afee406159287ba1. This same commit also appears in the history of the openstack/neutron repository's feature/lbaasv2 branch with an identical commit (c089154). -- Jeremy Stanley
