[magnum][magnum-cluster-api] Scalling Master Node
Hello all, I created a k8s cluster with 1 master and 1 worker node, I want to increase the master node to 2 or 3, I tried to do it with cluster resize/update and nodegroup create seems to be not supported and does not work, it works for the worker node, has anyone tried scaling the master node?
Hi there, This is a limitation of Magnum at the moment. We are tracking this in the project and hoping that the Magnum bits can get better. https://github.com/vexxhost/magnum-cluster-api/issues/175 Thanks Mohammed Get Outlook for iOS<https://aka.ms/o0ukef> ________________________________ From: pahrialtkj@gmail.com <pahrialtkj@gmail.com> Sent: Friday, May 10, 2024 1:12:59 PM To: openstack-discuss@lists.openstack.org <openstack-discuss@lists.openstack.org> Subject: [magnum][magnum-cluster-api] Scalling Master Node Hello all, I created a k8s cluster with 1 master and 1 worker node, I want to increase the master node to 2 or 3, I tried to do it with cluster resize/update and nodegroup create seems to be not supported and does not work, it works for the worker node, has anyone tried scaling the master node?
Hi Mohammed, Oh yea so it is true that it is not possible to currently do scaling for the master node, this information is very helpful. thank you very much. Thanks a lot. Pahrial

Yeap, historically the heat driver doesn't support it. Now with CAPI, it is possible. There is a patch being worked on at the moment https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/magnum/+/906086 - Jake
