yoga to antelope upgrade path
Folks, I am running yoga in production with ovn driver and planning to upgrade to the 2023.1 release. Are there any issues to directly go to 2023.1 before intermediate release? Or anything critical I should be aware of?
Hi Satish, We have done exactly this upgrade of our production cluster and we had no problems as Yoga is the first SLURP release. The only thing we are not using and thus we have not tested is the OVN driver (we are still using the deprecated linuxbridge agent. Note that depending on the OS you use this may involve an OS upgrade. This is in particular the case is using RHEL or a derivative as Yoga is EL8 based where Antelope is EL9 based. As for us, we did the OS upgrade at the same time as the OpenStack upgrade, service by service and we had no issue (just depending on how you configure Openstack, if you use RHEL, libvirt services configuration needs to be updated to deal properly with the modular libvirt configuration). Hope this helps. Cheers,. Michel Sent from my mobile Le 5 janvier 2025 04:04:34 Satish Patel <satish.txt@gmail.com> a écrit :

Not officially. Yoga to 2023.1/Antelope was our "dress rehearsal" for SLURP testing, and it worked for the most part. The first official SLURP release was 2023.1/Antelope and first officially supported SLURP upgrade was from 2023.1/Antelope to 2024.1/Caracal. But yes, we've heard reports from a variety of operators who skipped Zed when upgrading their deployments and it sounds reasonably safe. -- Jeremy Stanley
Thank you Michel and Jeremy. I will proceed for upgrade and I am running Ubuntu 22.04 so it must be smooth sailing. My deployment tool is kolla-ansible. On Sun, Jan 5, 2025 at 10:15 AM Jeremy Stanley <fungi@yuggoth.org> wrote:
