[Kolla] container images for Victoria?
Hi,
I see the announcement of Victoria release. What's the plan to release Kolla container images for Victoria?
Kolla Ussuri installs packages from [1]. For Victoria, [2] is available. But in [2], I don't find OpenvSwitch and OVN packages. Are they going to be provided later, or there is any new changes?
[1] http://mirror.iad.rax.opendev.org/centos/8/cloud/x86_64/openstack-ussuri/ [2] http://mirror.iad.rax.opendev.org/centos/8/cloud/x86_64/openstack-victoria/
Thanks! Tony

Hopefully production Kolla deployment doesn't obtain packages from those URLs. They're package caches for test systems, and are not guaranteed to exist long term (we could rename them at any moment or take them indefinitely offline for extended maintenance), nor are they necessarily guaranteed to be reachable outside the test regions of our CI system to which they're dedicated.

Where is production Kolla deployment supposed to obtain packages?
Thanks! Tony

If you're building your own images, then they should ideally get pulled from somewhere like http://mirror.centos.org/centos/8/ or one of the specific official CentOS mirrors close to where you're doing your image builds (definitely not from one of opendev.org's random unofficial CI system mirrors).

I see ovn and openvswitch packages in [1], but not in [2]. Where are those packages built, RDO? Any way to know when ovn and openvswitch packages will be available?

Hi Tony,
RDO now (Victoria) depends on OVS/OVN packages from CentOS NFV SIG: http://mirror.centos.org/centos/8/nfv/x86_64/openvswitch-2/

As a final note, I'd like to say that Kolla Victoria is not ready yet. Please hold on until we release before rushing in production.
