Hello Maciej, Thank you for the heads up about the new project. Just wanted to share that in Ubuntu we have been tracking the merge of ``networking-ovn`` into Neutron closely this cycle. We decided to prepare packaging for the new ``ovn-octavia-provider`` source repository back in February [0], and if all pans out as planned we will ship it with the upcoming Ubuntu Focal Fossa (LTS) release as well as making it available in the Bionic/Ussuri Ubuntu Cloud Archive. 0: https://git.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-server-dev/ubuntu/+source/ovn-octavia-prov... -- Frode Nordahl On Fri, Apr 3, 2020 at 12:11 PM Maciej Jozefczyk <mjozefcz@redhat.com> wrote:
Hello,
During this cycle Neutron team merged networking-ovn code to Neutron [1]. As a consequence of it we needed to create a new project called: "OVN Octavia provider", which is a provider driver for Octavia. Before it the driver was placed in networking-ovn tree. Neutron cannot rely on Octavia-lib, so that is why this decision was made.
The code move process to Neutron took some time and we released the OVN Octavia provider driver yesterday - under version 0.1.0. [2].
If you're working on distro packaging - please be aware that the driver is now delivered by a new package. RPM spec in RDO is ongoing: [3].
We are sorry for this late announcement.
