Do you expect users to be able to upgrade between those, and if so
is that tested?

We prefer to think that upgrades are supported, and we're ready to fix bugs when they arise, but we don't actively test that. Not that we don't want to, mostly because of understaffing, CI stability and the fact that grenade is painful enough as it is.
