Hi Zil and all, The best way to get in touch with the support at the Digital Alliance (the org that took over for Compute Canada) or the folks at Calcul Quebec (the org running the infrastructure) is via email at support@tech.alliancecan.ca or the other email support addresses at https://docs.alliancecan.ca/wiki/Technical_support I hope this helps, -- Micheal On Tue, Aug 13, 2024 at 9:37 AM Zil Pavdighada <zpavdighada@torontomu.ca> wrote:
Beluga Cloud is a service provided by Compute Canada. I found this email address when I navigated to the "Help" tab in my Beluga account. The specific problem is that I am unable to ssh into my VM anymore, which I was able to do using a terminal (in my case MobaXTerm), I've provided screenshots for reference. Put simply, we are conducting academic research and are hosting our web application on an Apache server on the VM that I set up on Beluga Cloud. Our website stores information that is filled in by users and to access those logs I need to be able to ssh into the VM, which is suddenly refusing to connect. There have been no network changes, or software changes so I am very confused how this happened and concerned about the data logs that we need to have access to for our research. I understand that this question may not be directly related to OpenStack but I am unable to find any point of contact with Beluga Cloud. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

I am currently working on a cloud project using the Beluga cloud platform. I have set up an Apache server on a VM and am hosting a website through MobaXTerm. While SSH is working fine, I am unable to connect to the VM using either the floating (public) or private IP address. I have already troubleshooted my network and MobaXTerm without success. I am wondering if the issue might be related to the cloud project itself. Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
It would help to be more specific... I performed a web search for "Beluga cloud platform" and ended up with a lot of different unrelated services, so I'm unclear on which one you're referring to.
Narrowing my search to services operated in Canada (based on an interpretation of your E-mail domain), I found a reference at https://docs.alliancecan.ca/wiki/B%C3%A9luga/en about a service by that name in Montreal. The linked document states: "By policy, Béluga's compute nodes cannot access the internet. If you need an exception to this rule, contact technical support explaining what you need and why." Maybe this helps?
If not, more details may assist our community in understanding what service you're asking about and how this pertains to OpenStack. It would also be good to explain why you're not asking the operators of the service you're using, or what they told you when you did. -- Jeremy Stanley
