Yea, the Zuul based Third Party CI I'm building uses Molten Iron to manage bare metal. I believe other Ironic 3rd Party CI projects are also using it.
Though, I don't see it as an absolute necessity.

Out of curiosity, is anyone still using MotltenIron?
A little historical context: It was originally tooling that came out of IBM to reserve physical nodes in a CI cluster in order to perform testing. It was never intended to be released as it was tooling *purely* for CI job usage.
The reason I'm asking is that the ironic team is considering going ahead and retiring the repository.
