I recently (actually, this morning) noticed the netifaces library[1] was archived a while ago,

because the maintenor could no longer continue Open Source contributions, unfortunately[2].

I quickly searched the repositories and found some projects which have netifaces

in their requirements.txt . We might need to look for alternatives (or offer to maintain

the project, which is always the best) before we face any problems caused by

that unmaintained library.
