I'm not sure it's that easy, as service does have couple of quirks.
Like you need a separate clustering service like pacemaker or consul, so that masakari could track the state of nodes.
Then I never actually used an instance monitor, mostly focusing on the host monitor functionality.
And then you also need to add hosts separately to masakari API under correct hostnames, which would match nova compute services.
And hostnames used for clustering should also match them.

But as I said, it works for me after all:)
