In our environment, the Compute Nodes run the MDM, SDC and SDS components of ScaleIO (VxFlex OS). However external SDC’s and SDC’s connecting to multiple environments are fully supported.

As long as the SDC-SDS network is available, and at least one MDM network is also available then there shouldn’t be any issues.
