F2F Board meeting collocated with the Paris summit?
Colleagues, We're looking at travel budget for the Paris event right now in my management team at Red Hat, and I was wondering whether the board will likely be following: (a) the South Korea pattern from last year (no collocated board meeting) or: (b) the Berlin/Vancouver model (collocated board meeting the day before Summit kicks off) Thanks, Eoghan -- Eoghan Glynn He/Him/His Senior Director, OpenStack Engineering Dublin, Ireland M: +353-86-8175024 <https://www.redhat.com>
Greetings, I happened to speak with Allison Price about this last week, and she asked if any board member had expressed interest. I told her that no board member had expressed interest in doing an adjacent meeting along with the next Summit in the greater Paris area. If there is actual interest I'm sure we could, but the consensus of my discussion with Allison was more so to focus on virtual instead of in-person for the board meeting. Thoughts? Discussions? -Julia On Wed, Jun 11, 2025 at 4:02 AM Eoghan Glynn <eglynn@redhat.com> wrote:

Hi Julia: I think it is valuable to have an annual face-to-face meeting. It helps to build relationships and understanding between the members, and the staff…. Not too dissimilar to the hallway track at events. Therefore, I’m supportive and will do my very best to be there if we schedule one. That said, I appreciate that travel and the associated budget are often not easy, and if a substantial portion of the members can’t make it, then the benefits are greatly diminished. Is it worthwhile to see what kind of turnout we would get if we have one at different opportunities?... OpenInfra Summit 2025, FOSDEM 2026, etc.? Best, Phil. Greetings Phil, I concur. With that having been said, I have created a poll to identify interest. That poll was sent to the confidential list for board members to respond to. Please respond in the next 24-48 hours so we can generate an accurate picture. Thanks! -Julia On Thu, Jun 12, 2025 at 12:38 AM Phil Robb <phil.robb@est.tech> wrote:
