<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Jay has been involved in OpenStack since the very early days. Over the last 4 years Jay has been running a very large and challenging OpenStack cloud at VMware. This is a multi-hypervisor cloud that has more
than 400 hosts. Not only is Jay working on keeping the cloud up and running he is also actively working on the following:<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">1. Ensuring that issues he has encountered are dealt with by the community. This involves interacting with the various upstream teams, and in many cases him posting patches and nurturing them through the review
process<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">2. Interacting with the community on pain points that he and his team have hit. In a large majority of cases this involves deployments, upgrades and patches<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">3. Actively working on bugs<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">In addition to this Jay has been working on making sure that deployments are automated, upgrades are smoother and patches are easily consumed.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Jay would be a super addition to the user committee as he has hands on experience in the day to day management of a cloud.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
