TL;DR
 Now the issue was resolved, and a new M3 release was created


The problem was addressed in this bug[1], and the fix was already merged in
all puppet repos.

Also, a new release patch was merged[2] and a new M3 release (like 16.2.1)
was created.

I confirmed that the update in metadata-json-lint is now working as
expected.
