The challenge I see with presenting the output of the socialization activity to the Operators as a roadmap is that we didn't ask the PTLs for their roadmap, we asked them what they were working on. The process I recall discussing was:

  1. Gather information from PTLs
  2. refine and consolidate into something coherent
  3. validate with PTLs
  4. present more broadly

with a target for Step 4 in Vancouver. This gives the PTLs a chance to see what each other have shared, and possibly change some of their answers.

We're still at step 1, so sharing this in a roadmap-ish format at the Operators meetup seems premature to me. Am I being overly cautious here?

cheers,
Scott

Please do, I'd love to see it in that format at some point too. Happy to help if needed.

Has anyone started work in taking this info and turning it into a roadmap-ish form that can be used at the Operators Meet-up next week? If not, I can take a stab at it.

I thought I saw a link to the work-in-process roadmap, based upon the PTL interviews, but can't find it now that I have time to work on it. Can someone forward it?
Thanks
Carol

Now that DefCore is somewhat finished for the next board meeting, I have cycles to focus on the product team.

I have to point out that the more I discuss the product team with people both within and without OpenStack, I get more interested in what we can accomplish with this work. Getting down off my soapbox. I share the product team release process that was started at the last face to face meeting.

I have fleshed out some basics with a timeline and responsibilities. I am creating the flowchart as I send this email.

Win-the-enterprise, project tagging, incubation-lite, and DefCore will overlap with what we are working on here. I will keep updating this ML as I figure out new information. Do the same as you hear new issues and discussions that can effect our work.

Hey all, I have started to compile notes from the projects on this

We still need feedback from a number of projects. If you have one and
dont' have time to get it, speak up and someone else can jump in.

Right, I submitted a talk for a 40 minute slot. I put down
everyone
who

has listed their name on the socialization etherpad so far as a
speaker

(please email me directly if you still want in so I don't have to
keep checking it throughout the evening :)

If there is a 15 minute slot, we could potentially grab that as
well
as

Scott points out. Could be a good way to summarize but the
product WG is
actually doing and get feedback on our charter. Or if talk time is
super
competitive we could try to summarize the whole thing in a 15
minute slot if thats all we could get.

Hi Sean,

I believe everyone is pushing their updates to the shared

but there are a bunch missing still (including one of mine).

I believe the talk proposal Mike put in was for a full slot,
but it
might

be worth having a 15 minute summary as well. It depends on
what we
want
to

accomplish:

Share key cross-project themes, tell people there's more detail
available

(15 minutes)
Provide some detail on where the projects are heading, get
feedback
(45-50

minutes)

What were you thinking of putting in the 15 minutes?

cheers,
Scott

My

first choices would be gdoc or wiki page.

I am thinking 15 minutes to during the summit talk to
summarize
you

information.

All,

I would appreciate if the participants in the socialization
subcommittee

would post their contact information into the Etherpad at

or

respond to this email if you prefer to not post in the etherpad.
This

is

especially important if you want to participate in the
speaker
session

which I am submitting for the Summit in Vancouver.

If you have spoken with a PTL who would be comfortable
getting on
stage

to

show support for our program, that would be especially helpful.
