What are the questions we want to ask Cinder PTL?
I am part of cinder team.
I spoke with previous PTL and Technical board member after our f2f meeting about our theme plans across projects.
And got positive feedback. But there is no substitute for more technical participation.
Over my last year participation I was driving need for upgrade and this work is partially coming in Kilo.

Cheers,
Arkady

Mike, Team,

The notes for keystone are now in Etherpad - https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/kilo-product-management-socialization

I have tried to make contact with Mike Perez from Cinder. But, no luck so far - A couple of emails, Linkedin message and ping on IRC. If someone knows Mike personally then it would help if you can make an intro.

Thanks,
Naren

Now that DefCore is somewhat finished for the next board meeting, I have cycles to focus on the product team.

I have to point out that the more I discuss the product team with people both within and without OpenStack, I get more interested in what we can accomplish with this work. Getting down off my soapbox. I share the product team release process that was started at the last face to face meeting.

I have fleshed out some basics with a timeline and responsibilities. I am creating the flowchart as I send this email.

Win-the-enterprise, project tagging, incubation-lite, and DefCore will overlap with what we are working on here. I will keep updating this ML as I figure out new information. Do the same as you hear new issues and discussions that can effect our work.

Hey all, I have started to compile notes from the projects on this
spreadsheet. I didn't want to make it world writable to avoid someone
just deleting the whole thing but anyone who requests access I will grant.

We still need feedback from a number of projects. If you have one and dont' have time to get it, speak up and someone else can jump in.

I'd like to plug into this effort. Trove is the best area for me to contribute as that's where I've had the most interaction.

Right, I submitted a talk for a 40 minute slot. I put down everyone who has listed their name on the socialization etherpad so far as a speaker (please email me directly if you still want in so I don't have to keep checking it throughout the evening :)

If there is a 15 minute slot, we could potentially grab that as well as Scott points out. Could be a good way to summarize but the product WG is
actually doing and get feedback on our charter. Or if talk time is
super
competitive we could try to summarize the whole thing in a 15 minute slot if thats all we could get.

Hi Sean,

I believe everyone is pushing their updates to the shared etherpad at

https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/kilo-product-management-socialization
,
but there are a bunch missing still (including one of mine).

I believe the talk proposal Mike put in was for a full slot, but it might be worth having a 15 minute summary as well. It depends on what we want to
accomplish:

Share key cross-project themes, tell people there's more detail available
(15 minutes)
Provide some detail on where the projects are heading, get feedback
(45-50
minutes)

What were you thinking of putting in the 15 minutes?

cheers,
Scott

Can your team start publishing the information you have gathered so far?
My
first choices would be gdoc or wiki page.

I am thinking 15 minutes to during the summit talk to summarize you information.

All,

I would appreciate if the participants in the socialization subcommittee would post their contact information into the Etherpad at

https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/kilo-product-management-socialization
or
respond to this email if you prefer to not post in the etherpad.
This
is
especially important if you want to participate in the speaker session which I am submitting for the Summit in Vancouver.

If you have spoken with a PTL who would be comfortable getting on stage to show support for our program, that would be especially helpful.

Sean Winn
