installing heat on another system with the default MySQL
Server, mysql-server-5.1.73-3.el6_5.x86_64.<br>

It appears that 5.1 still has issues with the creation of
indexes but reports it as a warning rather than an error. <br>

there were definitely columns missing from my original heat

services start and commands like heat stack-list or heat

You can find out whether your issue is heat or not by running:<br>
* heat resource-show <stack_name> server1<br>
(look at the message in the status_reason)<br>
* nova show <server_id><br>
