​My Dear Taipai Stackers in Residence,

I am writing to request your 'cultural intelligence'.  I want to understand
how best to encourage Taiwanese residents to meet prior to the hackathon
event?

What would be the best type of "pre-event activity" we could do to bring
individuals together to meet new team members?  How can we "break the ice"
between developers who are new to the community so they can help each other
"run the race" of the hackathon together?

In the Western World, I would ask friends to go to the pub and have several
drinks, usually spending the evening debating code and whitespace ;-)

What would be the best "social activities" and places in Taipai to invite
residence to come along and meet new people?

I am very excited to be visiting Taipai, it is a beautiful city and
culture.  I will be arriving on March 14th and I would like to invite
people to come and meet one another (informally) on the evenings of the
15th, 16th and 17th so we are all ready to run the hackathon marathon come
the weekend.

I thank you for your advice and guidance on how best to engage the wider
community in meeting and enjoining one another's company in the build up to
the event!
