<p style="margin: 0 0 1em 0; color: black;">I'm my opinion, straight up
sales pitches are bad. </p>
<p style="margin: 0 0 1em 0; color: black;">That said, if a particular
technology is widely adopted as part of Openstack clouds out in the world
(like a plug in), I could see how an expert on the technology could provide
value for attendees by talking about it at the summit, even if that
technology is closed source. People who'd never consider a closed source
plug in would simply not attend that session. </p>
<p style="margin: 0 0 1em 0; color: black;">So I guess I'd say it's not
black and white, more about whether there's a significant audience for the
topic and if the speaker has the expertise to convey it. </p>
