Hello Track Chairs,

It’s time for Part One of the track chair process!

You have between now and July 24 at 11:59pm Pacific Time (July 25 at 6:59 UTC) to complete this part. 

During this time we ask you to:

Review the submissions within your specific track and identify any that need to be moved into another track category by clicking the “Request Category Change” button.

Flag any talks that are obvious test submissions and need to be removed. Note this by making a comment and sending an email to speakersupport at openstack.org <mailto:speakersupport at openstack.org> with a link to the presentation.

Include comments on any sessions that you want to flag for more discussion later during the selection process. *ONLY* track chairs will be able to view your comments. Speakers and submitters cannot see your comments.

Round 1 is only about suggesting Track Changes; can’t begin your personal or team list until after community voting
Round 2 is for selecting tracks. 

General Features
** Track Chair List
- There is a track chair directory in the track chair tool so you have your fellow track chair email addresses. https://www.openstack.org/track-chairs/directory <https://www.openstack.org/track-chairs/directory>
** How to Change Tracks
- Click on the proposal, then click “request category change”
- Once you have made all your track changes, email track chair list for review
- We will use feedback from track chair list to approve/reject track changes
**Email the speakers
- You can email the speakers if you have questions about their session
** Intro to Ranking
** Intro to Team Ranking

New features
** Alerts if Team List updated
** Star ratings of users
- You can rank sessions by clicking Yes, Interested, or No thanks. This way you can filter the sessions
** Team Leaders
- We recommend having a team lead for your track who helps facilitate communication and keeps track of the team list 
** Communicate via email :)

Lightning Talks
** Ideally all alternates will give lightning talks
- This will help us have alternates onsite in case of emergencies 
** Possible b/c of volume we will have a few additional alternate onlys, but the idea is to give all lightning

Rules
** CONFIDENTIAL INFO - Please do not notify speakers that they have been accepted ahead of the public announcement. 
**Be as neutral as possible.
