[Openstack-track-chairs] Part One: Austin Session Selection Process

Lauren,

Could you clarify whether or not it’d be appropriate for the track chairs to suggest additional speakers / tweaks to the extant session submissions to bolster their chance of being selected? Or are your comments directed at filling overall gaps in the track (for which entirely new sessions would be appropriate).

Thanks,
Rob

Hi Seth,

As a track chair, you also have the option to recruit additional speakers and content if you feel like there are gaps. I think that’s going to be especially important for tracks like big data or cloud applications where we’re still a bit early and working to build out case studies and more content.

I’m glad we’re reviewing sessions earlier in the process, so we have some time to recruit a few additional speakers if needed. Also, we have not yet determined the number of sessions per track, but will use the submission numbers as a guide.

Cheers,
Lauren

If you have things that fit you can send them over.

Thanks

Seth

How to Contribute
The How to Contribute track is for new community members and companies
interested in contributing to the open source code, with a focus on
OpenStack community processes, tools, culture and best practices.

Yes, I usually draw the line between "Upstream development" and "How to contribute" based on whether the target audience is existing, current upstream code contributors ("upstream development") or prospective potential new contributors and companies trying to understand how to best proceed to get their code upstream ("how to contribute").

Hope this helps,
