Hey Dims,

Thanks for sharing the link to the TC meeting from yesterday.

Let me first answer some of the points that were raised in the meeting
and then add more general thoughts.

1) About Pike PTL
- I was planning to submit my candidacy for PTL position for Pike
cycle today/tomorrow.
(before the deadline of 29th for sure). In last week's Solum IRC
meeting [1] we discussed about this.

2) About activity
- It is true that there has not been major feature related activity
yet this cycle. But right now one of our contributors is actively
working on replacing Solum's dependency on nova-docker with Zun [2].
This was going to be one of our main feature targets for this cycle.
We might propose a talk about this for the Boston summit. Second,
another contributor has been working on adding support for building VM
images [3]. I am hoping that that series of patches would be completed
in Pike cycle. Along with these, we have been closely tracking and
working on the py35 goal that was proposed for this cycle.

General thoughts:
It is a fact that Solum team participation has reduced over time.
Currently there is myself, Zhu Rong, Eric Schilling, and Cao Wei who
are active on it on and off. Myself and Zhu Rong are most active. I
have been volunteering/working on Solum in my own personal capacity
since September last year (which is when I left Rackspace). I had let
ttx know at that time about it. At that time my goal was to help some
one else learn the ropes of the PTL role to take over. Amongst above
folks, Zhu Rong has shown the most initiative and he has shown
interest to take over the PTL role after Pike cycle [1]. Currently I
don't think there is any company that is backing the project
unfortunately. It is just us some folks working to make sure that the
gates are green and some interesting features get added. I am going to
be coming to Atlanta PTG and was going to sync up with you/ttx/other
TC folks to discuss about future options. My ideal scenario would be
to find a home for Solum where it will be cared for and then hand over
the project. Zhu Rong and his organization might be an option as he
has shown interest in being PTL.

So this is where we stand currently.

Dev
