Docutils 0.10 was released around that time, but a new version of sphinx that fixes a long-known incompatibility with docutils 0.10 has not been released: https://bitbucket.org/birkenfeld/sphinx/issue/998/docutils-010-will-break-sphinx-manpage Pinning docutils to 0.9 should help. -Jim
