All,

I hope you all enjoyed the holidays and are ready to hit the ground running in the new year, there’s a lot of security work to do!

As you will know if you’ve been attending the IRC meetings it’s been very difficult to arrange the mid-cycle in a way that allows us to seamlessly join with the Barbican mid-cycle – this was desirable because we have so much overlap both in terms of direction and expertise. Alas, we weren’t able to find dates that worked because of dates/budgets and various other constraints.

Instead we will run the mid-cycles in parallel. The OSSG mid-cycle will be run in San Francisco while the Barbican team meet up in San Antonio. Its our intention to enable direct collaboration during the week and there are obvious intersections between our projects where we can get a lot done.

The intended location for the mid-cycle is the Geekdom location in San Francisco, Travis visited them recently and found the space perfect for our needs – thanks Travis! Special thanks also go to Douglas and his parent organisation Rackspace for their help arranging the space! http://geekdomsf.com/

The proposed dates are Tuesday, February 17th -> Friday, February 20th. I’m awaiting final confirmation that we have the space but I don’t expect there to be any problems. https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Sprints/OSSGKiloSprint

Now is the time to take a look at the etherpad and add any ideas or proposals for work to undertake during the mid-cycle, I know a number of you have expressed ideas already, lets get them documented all in one place! https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/ossg-kilo-meetup

Cheers
-Rob
