The OpenStack Ops Mid-Cycle Meetup will provide a chance to continue conversations and dive into working groups initiatied at the first Ops Meetup in March 2014, and followed by the Ops Meetup tracks during the Atlanta Summit May 2014. It is intended to be a forum for people who are currently running OpenStack clouds to congregate, swap best practices, share ideas and give feedback. The format will primarily consist of round table / working groups / discussion sessions, with only a small number of presentations. The event has the following goals:<br>

Gather feedback on the issues that come up in running OpenStack and work to communicate this throughout the community<br>
Create a forum in which to share best practices and architectures between interested parties<br>
Increase constructive, proactive involvement from those running clouds<br>

However, first - we need to work on the content we'd like to see.<br>

The strongest response to the summit survey was a desire for sessions<br>
that really "connect" the ops/dev feedback loop full-circle, and see<br>
change actually happening. So this time, in addition to<br>
feedback-gathering sessions, I'm hoping to see at least a few real<br>
working sessions, much more "development" focused. Perhaps "blueprint<br>
review" might be one of these, or maybe the "enterprise" working group<br>
would like to have a working meeting.<br>
<br>
Aside from this, it turns out that people actually liked the topics we<br>
picked for the summit ops meetup - well done! The more<br>
presentation-style architecture "show and tell" was also enjoyed, but<br>
people wanted to change up the format a bit. Two back-to-back hours was<br>
too long :)<br>
<br>
