As Tony Campbell from Rackspace once said:

"OpenStack is like a jealous lover. If you go behind its back, it's
going to get angry."

Don't do it - it's not worth the pain. If you have only limited
resources, www.devstack.org provides a simple, all-in-one OpenStack that
works well* inside a virtual machine.
