Hi Guys

I haven't seen any updates on this one.

Did it get resolved? Was there a 'ticket'/issue created I can subscribe to?

shutdown vs terminate

Yes - but I am a bit more 'abstract'

I need an 'INSIDE VM' way to say 'I am all good, shutdown and release
everything' without needing EC2 credentials.

I actually don't care how it happens, but there should be a way for:
* the VM to decide that it's ok to do it,
* and it shouldn't need credentials to do it.

If 'shutdown -h' is that way - then so be it!

Terry Rankine

Thanks for your support Michael!

I'll take a look at the OpenStack code - that seems like a relatively
straightforward change to make in nova/virt/libvirt_conn.py :D

Terry - do you think this is something you could use too? Sorry for
hijacking your thread!

Regards,

Tom
