For a little more detail, Gerrit is your typical 3 tier java application built on GWT, jetty and backed by a DB. It uses the buck[1] toolchain for building and it relies on the jgit[2] library to interact with git. Any experience you have with those technologies would be awesome but really a desire to work with Java is the only requirement.

To re-iterate what Anita said. We are looking for others who have an interest to hack on Gerrit on behalf of Openstack. This can range from reviewing outstanding changes, bug fixes or adding a few features that have been requested by the Openstack community. I will also be at the Tokyo summit if anybody would like to discuss more in person. You can reply to me or find me on #openstack-infra ('zaro'). Hello Remo:

Our requirements are a desire to help. Now if you happen to be familiar
with gerrit, the openstack workflow, java and debugging threading
issues, so much the better but our largest requirement is the desire to
help.

Thank you for asking. It would be great to meet you in the
#openstack-infra irc channel on freenode when you have a minute.

Thank you,
Anita (anteaya on irc)
I work on the OpenStack-infra team and I've been hacking on Gerrit for a while. I'm the infra team's sole Gerrit developer. I also test all our Gerrit upgrades prior to infra upgrading Gerrit. There are many Gerrit feature and bug fix requests coming from the OpenStack community however due to limited resources it has been a challenge to meet those requests.
I was wondering whether there are any other folks in our community who might also like to hack on a large scale java application that's being used by many corporations and open source projects in the world. If so this is an opportunity for you to contribute. I'm hoping to get more OpenStackers involved with the Gerrit community so we can collectively make OpenStack better. If you would like to get involved let the openstack-infra folks know[1] and we will try help get you going.
