<div>I would just like to clarify the use of back-end vs. back end.</div>

<div>In the past we have corrected patches to use the two separate words, 'back end’ as that is what the IBM Style Guide uses. </div>

<div>However it appears now in the contributor guide, <a href="http://docs.openstack.org/contributor-guide/writing-style/word-choice.html">http://docs.openstack.org/contributor-guide/writing-style/word-choice.html</a> it appears we have reverted back to back-end.</div>

<div>Apparently there has been a mailing list discussion about this before however I cannot seem to find the history – so if someone is able to fill me in, that would be great! </div>
