    Some of the other teams are experimenting with not having weekly
    status meetings, instead managing priorities and updates via email.
    Would that work for the docs team?

I, personally, would absolutely love this. We have a highly distributed team, and most are unable to make the meetings at any given point (I mean, we never have more than a handful or so of attendees?).
