I'm subscribed to both, and that sounds like a good idea to me, since
it would presumably encourage more people to contribute to docs in
general.

But as a very occasional docs contributor[1] my opinion should be
worth not more than $0.02 :-)

One caveat is that no matter how clearly the convention is set, I
anticipate usage of both [docs] and [doc] subject tags, which might
cause a bit of confusion ...

[1] Hopefully that will change, of course!
