Open Stack

Hi all,

I’m Ianeta, a member of OSIC and eager to get involved with the HA guide. I wanted to engage the community in an open forum surrounding the HA guide.

I want the HA guide to be a space that promotes OpenStack adoption. I think this is done by presenting 1) an aid for Adrian – Infrastructure Architect to decide whether they need/want HA on OpenStack, 2) a simple vendor neutral config that Rey – Cloud Operator can use to get started, 3) resources to assist Rey in maintaining their HA cloud, and 4) a space to display the potential of OS HA clouds – think: more complex configs, testing results/methods for testing robustness of their HA cloud.

The method in which we move forward with the guide is as follows:

1)       Bug Squash. Although the list is small, it will take a mighty team effort to fix these https://bugs.launchpad.net/openstack-manuals/+bugs?field.tag=ha-guide. These speak to a lot of the shortfalls of the HA Guide

2)       A clean out of all no longer relevant content

3)       Re-architect the guide to best display the 4th point from above

4)       The implementation of new content for 4th point from above
